Churburg Style Leg Harness
Our Churburg Style Leg Harness is leg protection made according to early Milanese design from the end of the XIV century – beginning of the XV century. Based on the example of the full set of armor which belonged to one of the members of the Matsch familyand which is preserved in Churburg Castle. The set includes an early armet helm, a cuirass with a V-shaped stop rib, an arm harness, gloves, and leg pieces.
The Churburg Style Leg Harness consists of steel cuisses and upper and lower lames articulated with poleyns. The lightly curved cuisses have rounded upper edges. There’s a side plate attached with two hinges on both thigh elements. The wings on the kneecaps are made in Milanese style, with slightly rounded edges. The harness is reinforced with a central rib and is equipped with durable leather straps and fastens with steel buckles.
