Hidden Gorget
If you would like to add solid protection for your neck, a steel plate gorget is a superb solution. That said, participating in medieval combat which is regulated by HMB rules and the Authenticity Committee requires fighters to maintain historical accuracy in regards to the period and region of the equipment and weapons.
So, what do you do if your set of armor is XIV or XV century but you want to complete it with a steel plate gorget? The answer is our Hidden Gorget! All steel elements are covered with fabric (or suede leather as an add-on, which makes the Hidden Gorget look like an element of woolen or padded gorget which is absolutely suitable for XIV or XV century armor.
Two layers of covering shell material are sewn directly to the plates of the gorget and provide long-lasting durability to the armor. If you choose steel as your metal, the inner metal part of our Hidden Gorget is covered with paint to prevent rusting. This piece of armor is anatomically shaped, providing comfort as well as protection. The Hidden Gorget closes with leather straps with buckles. It also comes in a variety of colors so that you can show your own style on the battlefield. This piece of neck protection can be crafted from mild, stainless, or tempered steel or titanium.
It is important to note that our Hidden Gorget should be worn on a gambeson with collar and that measurements should be with padding/gambeson.
