A brigandine was typically made of small plates of steel. However, this proved to be a problem as small plates were less able to take a heavy impact than larger ones. Accordingly, the plates were enlarged over time and were made to be a better anatomical fit. A characteristic feature of big-plate brigandines was a skirt of laminar structures that was absent in small-plated brigandines. These eventually evolved into what amounts to a cloth-covered cuirass.
The plates of our Corazzina Brigandine are made of 1.5mm cold rolled steel, but other options are available such as tempered steel and titanium. You may also select either wool or suede leather for the exterior, which will be reinforced with a layer of canvas.

Please note, that measurements should be with padding/gambeson.

    The fit and the overall quality of my corazzina is excellent and I'm incredibly satisfied with the product. The colour of the material is perfect also, the comfort and the mobility is excellent.

    J'ai acheté et souvent utilisé une cette corrazine type 2 (avec les options "acier trempé 1,5 mm", cuir et sangle personnalisé à la main) et je ne l'ai jamais regretté ! Solide dans les duels comme dans les mêlées ! En 6 ans d'utilisation à raison de 6-8 médiévales par an, je n'ai jamais été blessé au torse. Seul une sangle a lâché et c'était suite à un arrachage involontaire avec un miton lors d'un "calin" au corps à corps. Bref, merci pour votre bel et efficace artisanat !

    I bought this Brigandine in red wool and 1mm tempered Steel from Second hand. It served the Previous owner in 2 Years and me in another 2 Years in Battle very well. For Professionell HMB I recommend an other Version with Overlapping plates and an additional Plate on the Waist. Further i am Still happy about this Corazinna.
