I'm using this for Larping and light fighting, the thin padding makes it look good and not too hot (this has standard one layer of padding in contrast to their gambesons). Me and a friend opted for custom ones with detachable arms like their gambeson, which I can recommend to make it even more ventilated and increasing mobility even more. The sizing is exactly what is says, so a perfect fit if you're within those measurements. Measure with whatever you're gonna have underneath though. If you are looking for something period correct or so, the brown edge bands might look off though. Upon close inspection they look very modern "polyester-y" - but seeing Forge of Svan makes HEMA stuff for hard use they have to be heavy duty, and that it's a compromise. I've opted to cover them in decorated edge bands to look even more fancy. Pros: -Fabric is 10/10, not as shiny as in pictures which is good in my opinion. More subdued, like in the video -Buttons look great -Padding is perfect for light armor setups, like renaissance or late medieval "noble" styles - Highly mobile when combined with detachable arms. Remove the arms and you have a good looking vest for warm days. Cons: - Edge lining isn't very medieval looking, but they're heavy duty so they're going to last! - Buttons are very protruding, one of them came loose because my belt was tugging on it. Something to keep in mid, I would go for metal buttons or straps if you're gonna use a lot of belts or pack heavy stuff on the belt - Armpits are small. Like, tailor-made tight that rides up almost in your armpit. Great fit, but if you have a thicker tunic or similar you're going to feel the doublet in your armpits. This might be a side-effect of me having detachable arms though. However, I stopped thinking about that after a while walking around, but if you got huge shoulders or big arms you might want to ask for a bigger armpit. Makes for a great tailor-made look though.
