Plate Spine Protection

Plate Spine Protection

ID: 11506

Our Plate Spine Protection augments your already extant spine protection and was developed specifically for those who engage in full contact medieval combat sports. The steel rondel usually found on the back of the aventail isn’t always enough which is why you’ll need our plate spine protection for buhurt.

It consists of a curved neck plate and six overlapping segments. When assembled, the horizontal plates make a triangular-shaped spine protection. They are forged anatomically to fit the shape of the back. Thanks to the leather base, the spine protection is flexible and can be fixed to the gambeson. There are four pieces of durable leather riveted to the metal plates: two on the upper sides, one long one at the edge of the neck segment and one on the center of the two bottom plates. The fastenings have holes on the edges, so you can sew the plate neck protection to your padded gambeson.

This plate armor can be made from 1.0mm titanium, 1.0mm stainless steel, or 1.0mm tempered steel. It’s one-size-fits-all, so be sure to choose the standard size option.

Please note that measurements should be with padding/gambeson.
