Padded Set Gobelin
In the Middle Ages quilted cloth reinforced with the simple leather elements could be the only protection of the poor soldier. Padded jackets and stockings were less expensive than steel. However even rich noble knights wore padding under their armor. They stood out by using valuable fabrics and rich colors.
Padded Set Gobelin consists of gambeson and padded stockings. Made from fabric in Gobelin style. Very beautiful combination of noble gold and warm marsala colors assembled in medieval floral patterns. Padding is quilted vertically. Made with two layers of natural sheet wadding. It’s comfortable and light. Steel armor looks gorgeous on the gobelin fabric background. You can complete this set with the same style Padded Aventail Gobelin.
Sleeves of the Gambeson can be made sewed or detachable (as you can see on the photos). Also they can be equipped with sewn leather arming points for the arm armor connection optionally . One pair of arming points will be attached on the shoulders. Two pairs will be sewn to the sleeve above and under the elbow joint. Please note: the sewn arming points may not fit the holes of your steel arm harness. In this case you can easily unsew them and change the position according to your wish.
